— About
Alicudi isn't a place you pass through. It's a place you choose — and come back to.

— Your hosts
Our father's island.
We have been coming to Alicudi since childhood. It's our father's island — he was born there. Part of our family still lives on the island: cousins, uncles, neighbours who watched us grow up. This place is our roots.
Today we look after La Casa della Roccia. Not as landlords, but as heirs — of a house, a story, a certain rhythm. Welcoming you here is our way of sharing this part of us: the island that raised us, and that is unlike any other.
Alicudi is a raw jewel, and we want it to stay that way. Wild, beautiful, silent. No artifice — just nature, the sea, the people who live here. You come back to yourself. Our commitment is simple: the house should fit into what the island is, not into what someone might want it to become.
— On the island
Mar — a saint on the island.
Mar lives on Alicudi year-round. With her husband, they've done so much for this island — they mapped the hiking trails and waymarked the paths (eolietrekking.com), and welcomed travellers into their home for years. Today they craft artisanal soaps from olive oil and prickly pear: saponedialicudi.com.
She's a remarkable person — truly a saint — and she looks after La Casa della Roccia with love. She's the one waiting for you at the port, handing over the keys, pointing you to the right trail, the restaurant open that evening, the fisherman selling fresh fish on Tuesdays. Mar speaks Italian, Spanish and English. For anything you need during your stay, she's your person. No one knows the island better.
